The trail consists of a winding staircase leading to the top of a large hill and a narrow wooden bridge across the river surrounded by towering cliffs and rich natural vegetation. The trail starts at the Areinho riverbank and passes through the Vau riverbank, ending at the Espiunca riverbank. Visitors who experience this wooden path will have the opportunity to admire the stunning scenery such as waterfalls, quartz crystal deposits, exotic flora and fauna, and the river below.
The ‘Paiva Walk’ opened in July 2015, but more than 600m of it was damaged in a devastating bushfire in September. After several months of repairs, the walk has reopened.
