The supermodel has now been banned from accepting charitable trusts for five years.
The AP news site has just reported that the Charity Commission has discovered violations in the activities of the charity organization Fashion for Relief founded by famous supermodel Naomi Campbell .
According to the Charity Commission, the organisation spent only 8.5% of the money raised from its fashion events on charitable causes over the six years since 2016. In addition, the organisation has consistently failed to deliver on its promised payments to organisations supporting vulnerable people and children, including Save the Children.

During that time, the organization raised nearly £4.8 million (over 158 billion VND) from a series of fashion shows, but only transferred £389,000 (over 12 billion VND) to charities. Thus, the organization spent about £4.41 million (about 145 billion VND) for the wrong purposes.
Charity Commission investigators also said that Fashion for Relief’s financial management and record keeping were chaotic, with the organisation often failing to keep invoices, documents and receipts for important meetings. It also had no full-time staff, so it had to seek outside advice. It even paid €14,800 (about 406 million VND) for a plane to take its director of trustees and an anonymous donor to a fundraising event in Cannes in May 2018.
Naomi Campbell has also been accused of benefiting from tens of thousands of pounds through health and beauty services, luxury hotel rooms, flights, personal security and even cigarettes from the foundation’s money. Not stopping there, during the event in Cannes, the organization also paid 8,000 Euros (about 219 million VND) for Naomi Campbell’s spa treatments, booked 6 nights in a hotel room costing 3,000 Euros/day (82 million VND) and spent more than 4,000 Euros (109 million VND) on bodyguard and personal security services.

As for Naomi Campbell, the supermodel said she did not manage the organization herself, but left it to a legal officer. The supermodel affirmed that everything she did and all the money she raised was used for charity purposes. Despite her statement, Naomi Campbell was still banned from being a charity trustee for 5 years in England and Wales.
Fashion for Relief was founded by Naomi Campbell in 2005 to raise money for charity through fashion auctions. Its initial focus was to tackle poverty and support disadvantaged young people. Fashion for Relief was placed under investigation in November 2021. The organization subsequently became insolvent and was declared liquidated in March 2024.
