NFL star Travis Kelce has been criticized by sports pundits for his decline in form in the new season because he has been distracted by other things, including trips with girlfriend Taylor Swift.
According to Page Six , former ESPN analyst Todd McShay blames Travis Kelce’s slow start this season on his recent fame and “fly-all-over” lifestyle.
“He’s been partying all season, right? He’s been hanging out with probably the most famous person in the world,” Todd McShay said, referring to Taylor Swift.

The expert cited the pair’s weekend in New York City in early September, where they were seen drinking and watching the US Open. “I want you to take a picture of him before the 2022 season and a picture before the 2024 season, he’s hardly the same person,” Todd explained.
Todd McShay dismissed the idea that Kelce’s lack of success was due to defenses marking him, which he said has happened throughout Kelce’s career. However, Todd believes the three-time Super Bowl champion will definitely get back to his best at some point, even though he’s “not himself” right now.

Since the start of the new season in early September, the 34-year-old has eight receptions for 69 yards and has yet to score a touchdown. Last year, after the first three games, Travis Kelce had 17 receptions for 155 yards and two touchdowns.
The pundit pointed out that Travis Kelce has been distracted by too many commercials, events and social activities. “You can’t maintain that schedule and still have time for football,” he concluded on the Ryen Russillo podcast on Monday.

During his offseason, Travis Kelce flew to seven countries to support Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour and travel with her. After the first game, he also flew to New York to relax with Taylor. Additionally, Travis signed a six-figure podcast deal, starred in Ryan Murphy’s new series, Grotesquerie , and was tapped to host Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? .
Former player Rodney Harrison, an NBC analyst and two-time Super Bowl champion, also commented on Travis Kelce’s decline: “He’s very busy. He’s doing a lot of media-related things. But when you’re on the field, you have to be 100% focused on the ball and that’s the main responsibility.”
