Little did they know, this late-night discovery would lead to the enchanting capture of “light pillars,” unveiling the breathtaking beauty of the Northern Ontario skies.
As the young Gibson pointed excitedly at the sky, Timothy wasted no time in grabbing his camera, preparing to immortalize the unexpected celestial display. Timothy Elzinga shared his initial thoughts, “I initially mistook it for the Northern Lights since we reside in Canada. It was an exceptionally clear night, revealing every detail. These lights were shooting upwards into the sky, reaching hundreds of feet high, shimmering and gracefully moving across the expanse.”
