Glen Spencer, 42, happened to see this image in the sky over Chester, Cheshire, while walking on the street.
“I tried to follow the clouds and look for a higher position to observe clearly. They are beautiful , attractive and very easy to confuse people with UFOs,” Spencer said, emphasizing that he had never seen anything like it before.
These clouds are also called wave clouds. They form when strong winds blow over high surfaces, then move down the waves and create a distinctive cloud shape as the air cools.
Lenticular clouds are rare in the UK. They form when a high landform such as a mountain top blocks a strong wind.
