The moment Lady Gaga “kissed” another woman on set was not included in the movie “Joker: Folie à Deux”.
Fans are currently in an uproar after realizing that the same-sex kiss scene featuring Harley Quinn ( played by Lady Gaga ) was not featured in Joker: Folie à Deux 2. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Todd Phillips explained that the scene no longer made sense.
“This scene has dialogue, but suddenly I wanted it to be a more musical and emotional moment. For that moment to happen, it needs dialogue behind it, which is the woman saying something and Lady Gaga kissing. This just interferes with the moment,” said the director.
Previously, this “kissing” scene made the audience extremely surprised and curious when the film crew was discovered filming on the street in March 2023. In the deleted scene, the female singer’s character stopped while walking up the steps of the courthouse, grabbed the woman in the crowd and suddenly kissed her in front of everyone’s eyes.
At present, the second part of Joker is being criticized by critics and audiences for “singing without reason”. Many people are disappointed with Todd Phillips’ “hands-on”. Previously, the first part of the film brought in 1 billion USD in revenue worldwide, making fans have high expectations for this film. However, the second part has caused great controversy with its content and new musical genre in a superhero movie.
