It is known that this place is called Yuncheng Salt Lake, which is a salt lake located in Guangxi town, Rongcheng city, Shanxi province, and has long been known as the “Dead Sea of China”.
Chinese historians estimate that locals have been harvesting salt from this lake for around 6,000 years. To this day, it is considered the largest source of salt for people across the country.

This place has long been compared to the Chinese version of the “Dead Sea”.

In the summer, when the weather becomes hot, the lake surface is also flooded with brilliant colors. Many scientists explain that this is due to a unique microalgae species called Dunaliella Salina. With heat and reflected sunlight, they will react with salt in the water to create mirabilite crystals (also known as Glouber’s Salt), giving the lake such a “magical” color.

The “magical” colors are created by a type of microalgae called Dunaliella Salina found in the lake water.

In China, this has long been considered a very famous tourist destination. From the city center, visitors can take a bus or taxi straight to the Yuncheng Salt Field. Now let’s take a look at a series of other beautiful moments here!
